In the film, Li Feng, played by Wang Ban, is a kung - fu - loving teenager. When he first arrives in New York, he tries to help a friend but ends up being "American - bullied" by the local karate champion. Determined to regain respect, he decides to participate in the karate competition. To assist him, his former mentor, Master Han, played by Jackie Chan, travels across the ocean and teams up with karate master Daniel, portrayed by Ralph Macchio. Together, they transform New York into a training ground for Li Feng, providing him with a master - level training experience.
